The Turbo DX 98 is a sleeper build: a textured beige SilverStone tower styled after the office machines of the early nineties, with three 5.25 inch bays, a key lock, a two digit seven segment display and a working Turbo button on the fascia. Nothing glows through the front and it’s silent from a metre away.
Inside, it’s built to the same spec as our flagship gaming systems. An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16GB on a vertical riser mount, AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32GB memory, 2TB M.2 SSD, a 360mm liquid cooler with live readout and an 850W Gold PSU, all on an ASUS TUF X870 board with Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5GbE. The Turbo button is wired to the fan controller, so a press switches between quiet and performance modes and the display tells you which you’re in.
