Our standard thermal paste acts to conduct heat between the surface of the processor and the surface of the CPU cooler. We always use high-quality thermal pastes when not supplied as standard with your selected cooler. A good quality thermal paste applied well can reduce CPU temperatures by a couple of degrees which equates to more performance or quieter operation.
