GTA 6 - What are the recommended specs?
With Grand Theft Auto 6 confirmed for a 2026 release date, we as PC gamers are eagerly awaiting news about the kind of hardware we’ll need to explore Rockstar’s next open-world epic. While official PC specs haven’t been released yet, we can make some educated guesses based on previous entries and the game’s expected scale.
GTA 6 - Tech Assumptions
CPU :
With Rockstar’s history of complex NPC AI, dense urban environments, and CPU-intensive weather simulation, GTA 6 is expected to benefit significantly from high-performance processors. CPUs featuring AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology—like the Ryzen X3D series—are likely to see strong performance gains thanks to their massive L3 cache, which can reduce latency in open-world environments. Intel’s latest Core i9 chips also offer exceptional performance-core performance that should handle the game’s sprawling cityscapes and physics-driven gameplay well.
RAM :
Open-world games are notoriously heavy on memory, and GTA 6 will be no exception. With a vast playing area, real-time weather systems, AI traffic, and layered mission logic, we anticipate 64GB of RAM to be the new gold standard for smooth, high-detail gameplay. We expect 32GB will be a reliable minimum spec, and 16GB will likely be inadequate, as it has become for several other complex Triple-A games. Future-proofing with higher memory capacity will likely pay off handsomely.
GPU :
GTA games have always been visually ambitious, and GTA 6 is going to raise the bar even further. Rockstar’s next-gen game engine is expected to push even top-end GPUs to their limits, especially with ray tracing, high draw distances, and dense urban rendering. GTA V already stressed GPUs with its expansive draw distance sliders, and GTA 6 will undoubtedly take this further. Players aiming for high detail at 4K resolution should plan on a GPU with at least 16GB of VRAM, while those chasing ultra/max settings may need to look toward the RTX 5080 or even RTX 5090.
Storage :
We expect GTA 6 to be the biggest game install we’ve ever seen. With Rockstar’s commitment to detail—spanning everything from high-res textures, dynamic environments, and an incredibly expansive map—install sizes could easily exceed 200GB, if not more. Super fast NVMe SSDs won’t just be recommended, they’ll be essential for reducing load times and ensuring smooth asset streaming. Be ready to clear space—this one’s going to be a storage monster.
GTA 6 - System recommendations
Below are three gaming that will be great options for GTA 6 and all the other AAA titles due out this year. Offering a range of budget and performance options, we expect all to be able to run GTA 6 capably.
Budget system
Here is our first recommendation the R5 RTX 5060Ti Powerhouse. A fantastic choice balancing performance with the wieght on your wallet. While you might be robbing banks in game, we don’t encourage that irl.
Ultimate G system
Our next recommendation is our system for all the true G’s out there, our R7X3D RTX 5090 Ultra Beast. The name is a mouth full, but the power it brings will leave all the others in the dust. The ultimate bling PC.
Final thoughts
While we await official confirmation about what specs will be needed, now might be a good time to start planning an upgrade if you’re aiming for top-tier visuals. We offer a range of customisation options for all of the systems, so we are sure you will find something that fits your tastes.
